SREM Methodology Officially Presented In the 2013 ATCSL

With over 20 years of teaching experience and research, Ms. Laura WANG, the founder of Beijing Mandarin, initiates the unique SREM® teaching methodology for languages.

S-R-E-M stands for Superimposing, Recapping, Expanding, and Merging. Using the SREM approach, the learning contents are delivered in 4 ways interrelated with sets of symbolic tools for verbal (26 English letters) and for visualization (6 Basic Strokes and its Transformed strokes).

Using the SREM methodology, the ratio will be heavy on verbal learning at the beginning, from 100% and gradually reduced, while on visualization, it is the other way around, starting at 1% and gradually increasing. Upon reaching a certain proficiency, both verbal and visual broaches will be merged together, ready to enter the next level of in-depth verbal and written Mandarin learning.

SREM Methodology has been officially published in the conference the 2013 International Conference of the Association of Teaching Chinese as the Second Language (ATCSL, 2013 年台灣華語文教學學會年會暨國際學術研討會)
